Dragon effect: Joker and Normandy the high dragon by AndrewRyanArt Dragon effect: Joker and Normandy the high dragon by AndrewRyanArt
Normandy: looked at her again after not seeing it for a week (thanks assassins creed 3) and when I came back to it I thought she looked really stupid so I found some more screenshots of DA2 dragons and re-did her design to better match them. This is much more what I originally had in mind when I thought of the Normandy as a dragon, with the blue flame/energy representative of the thannix technology. Also shes sort of a hybrid of the alliance and cerberus colors

Joker: If Joker ever tried to ride a dragon he would probably snap in half with every twist and turn so I chose to overlook his bone condition. Originally I was thinking of having him in some non combat role but since everyone else is suited for it I wanted him to be able to participate in some way, plus he and the Normandy are kind of inseparable. So probably not my best thought out role but Im ok with it.

he could be a dragon-bound, as long as he's close (near body contact) to Normandy he gets regeneration or his bones are much stronger. Awesome work.

I love it, I just want to mention you could of made Normandy a Mabari Hound and Joker as its trainer/caretaker/owner. But then again Dragon Normandy and Joker being a dragon rider is sooo cool.

Perhaps in the same way that Flemeth planned to assume direct control of an old god. : )

Or perhaps the Normandy can shape-shift into a human form, as with Flemeth.  Hm...

Oh, and the way you said "assume direct control" just made me think of the Collectors.  :D

Because if anyone was crazy enough to try and tame a dragon to ride it, it would be Joker. This is a fantastic concept.

A very interesting idea. You should show this to Bioware, maybe they might do a game based on this crossover.

So what are your thoughts on the backstory for these two? You gave us ideas about everyone else, and I'm very curious on how they would end up being rider/mount, since in DA high dragons are pretty much all evil and would definitely kill Joker.
Beautiful work, I love it! Bioware should hire you to make a game.

A fascinating and thought provoking combination of Bioware's bestselling games Mass Effect and Dragon's Age! How's this for a backstory?

Joker is a gifted mage serving alongside Shepard. Then Shepard dies, and Joker is brought under the wing of the Illusive Man, a mysterious and powerful leader of the Tevinter Imperium's underworld. The Illusive Man is conducting experiments with the application of lyrium to unborn animals, and the culmination of his research is Normandy, the first High Dragon. Loaded up to the gills with lyrium, Normandy is a walking, flying, blue-fire-breathing magical armory, capable of unleashing the destructive power of a dozen magi or more. Such is the power of the beast, that the Illusive Man bonds Normandy and Joker as means of balance between the two. So long as Joker remains in direct contact with Normandy, he is unaffected by the normal dangers of his disease and provided with a nigh unending supply of magic, and Joker provides Normandy with calm and dedicated care, affection and training, similar to the relationship of Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern. In battle, these two act in a support role, able to bring fierce and precise destruction at any point in a fight and relaying information through powerful Mindspeech abilities. EDI orginally acts as Normandy's primary caretaker, providing and procuring the lyrium necessary to sustain Normandy, but soon shares more and more tasks with Joker as the trio grow closer together.

it would have been hilarious if normandy had a baby harness type thing and joker with his condition was riding and controlling normandy from that.

Also amazing art and the way you conceptualize an inanimate being as large as a ship into such an awesome looking dragon that actually contains representative elements of the actual normandy is just awesome.
