Giedi Prime house harkonnen by AndrewRyanArt Giedi Prime house harkonnen by AndrewRyanArt
So it's been forever since i read the original Dune novel and I don't really remember if there was an exact description of what the planet looked like but I was loosely trying to make this planet look like what I imagine Giedi Prime to be, an industrial world mixed with crowded living conditions and a polluted atmosphere.
I drew inspiration from the planet Illium in ME and Coruscant in Star Wars (which are basically the same thing anyway).

Hi, this work has been stolen, badly modified and put on sell from someone who's even claiming copyrighted ownership of it.
You can find the evidence here:

And you can find more info on this huge art theft here:

This original Giedi? Or is it balterian djihad timing? It could be even machine ocupation timing, cause of all those ships.

I love your interpretation of Giedi Prime. Something about the Harkonnen has always attracted me to them. I mean, the good guys are so conceded and sometimes they make huge mistakes for the greater good. Harkonnen on the other hand, they're just evil! Evil and proud of it, and GOOD at it! I like a bad guy who isn't in denial of who he is or where he comes from. Your depiction of their home world is just inspired and really captures the mood of what it means to be a Harkonnen!

In my opinion the Dune series is one of the most masterful ever written. I'm glad the rare fans of the series do it justice through equally amazing artistry. Keep it up!

No, there was no exact description in the first novel. I've read it several times. That was one of the strengths of the novel. It let your imagination run free, providing just enough seeds at the right place. You have a great illustration there.

Did you read the books? The movie is visually amazing but lacking in it's ability to tell the story well
