From the Brother's Grimm fairy tale "Little Brother Little Sister," in the tale a young boy and girl run away from home and their evil step mother who is really a witch. The witch puts a curse on the forest rivers that will turn any who drink from it's waters into a deer, which ends up happening to the little brother. Embracing his new form however the little brother frolicks around the woods and even leads the local prince and his hunting party on wild chases. I gave the deer boy a human eye and smile along with a garter collar which was given to him by his sister in the book.
Hey, that's one of my favorite fairy tale!
I like how you detailed this with that little highlight of color and the dogs' positions in motion are very true to the real thing. I think this well portrays the scene from that story, which I just read, so its pretty nice to actually see art for it.
That is gorgeous! Very exciting and I love the shading and details!
I really like your illustrations of the Brothers Grimm tales. Especially taht one. The perspective is great. It looks very natural, not distorted and the way how the hunting dogs turned out, especially their dynamics but also the dynamics of the whole illustration are just wonderful.
My grandma used to tell me this story when I was little! I love it! Great illustration!
I like how you managed to capture movement...and the compozition si good too.
Good idea on the eye and smile. Real deer are, well, dumb. And the castle s a dream too!
Wow, Very nice Depiction of the Story! A wonderfully done piece!
The expression on the deers face is awesome. You really brought out the intensity of the chase in the movements. Especailly with the dogs.
