During their invasion, the Reapers converted many varren into husks. Referred to as "hellhounds" by Alliance soldiers, these varren husks are just as deadly as any other husk. During the conversion, Reaper nanotech enhances the varren's senses of hearing, sight, and smell in addition to making the hide much harder to pierce. The bite can pierce armor, while the saliva brings about a high risk of infection. Hellhounds are usually deployed in the later stages of Reaper occupation to root out resistance.
While on Tuchucka the Reapers captured Varren specimens and implanted them with nano tech enhancing their sense of smell. Packs of Reaper Varren are deployed along with Reaper troops onto invaded colony worlds in Urban areas. With their enhanced tracking ability they sniff out civilians that may be hiding in ruined buildings or underground. After spotting prey it emits a high pitch howl that alerts nearby Reaper infantry. Just like when it were alive they still have a nasty bite.
I adore your work... just figured that after going 'wow' after seeing your gallery so far/linking the images to everyone I know that I should say something!
