Three Years Later by AndrewRyanArt Three Years Later by AndrewRyanArt
I'm such a dork for these two.
This was inspired by Shepard's comment during the Samara mission when he asked Kaidan if he could learn to biotic float, to which Kaidan replied "Not in the next ten minutes."

Though I’m not crazy about the ending to Mass Effect 3, it at least leaves things open enough for each person to craft their own story of what happens after the war. In my mind Shepard would take a few years off from active duty to recover from his injuries and probably retire from the alliance. But being the workaholic that he is he’d eventually return to his role as a council spectre. Luckily, he’s still got Kaidan to remind him to take it easy every once in awhile.

As for Kaidan he’d continue to teach a class of biotic students as well as resume his own spectre duties. With the citadel being so close to earth he’d be able to easily serve both the alliance and council. Plus without the impending threat of a reaper invasion he’d have more time to improve his biotics and finally master that tricky biotic floating thing.

Sorry I haven’t been posting art lately, been super busy with work this month, hopefully things will slow down in January.

So damn sweet. Amazing work.

This totally matches my headcanon. I didn't trust that construct in the Catalyst. I mean it intentionally chose a form to make Shepard trusting (shouldn't he question why it looked like the boy he watched die?). Everything it said about synthetics and organics was disproven by Shepard's previous experiences with EDI and The Geth. And the synthesis option seemed to violate the lessons learned after the Genophage and Cerberus (playing god = mistake). The way I see it, it was lying to try and ensure its own survival, guilting you about EDI and the Geth in order to keep you from killing it. Other synthetics were probably severely damaged because they incorporated Reaper tech, but given time they could be rebooted.

So I said fuck it and did destroy, and lived. And now this can happen.

The open ending made me think along these lines too. I like how you made Kaidan glow. This is rather... sweet. :)

It would bother me more that you can't romance him in ME1 too, if Garrus and Tali hadn't also been off limits. I kind of wish they would remake the series as one long game, to clear up inconsistencies and expand options and stories which they didn't have time for the first time around.

Actually you can romance him in ME1 (using a cheat, since the content - voice acting and all - is there, it has just been cut before shipping the game). It - the script - is a little funny though.

<3! Great Pic ^_^  If that conversation is only with male Shepard, I absolutely need to hear it myself.

Lol, in my game Kaidan seemed soooo Jealous of Samara when she jumped off the ledge. Then my Shep had to comment that is was 'too bad we can't do that' (he's an adept) and Kaidan practically growled at him. I giggled until we reached the end.

"Noticing the days hurrying by. When you're in love, my how they fly!" -Blue Skies by Ella Fitzgerald

Admittedly that song lyric was a bad pun in this situation, but that's the feeling I get from this picture. They're so content with being together.
